Is it a test or an exam?
No. It’s about 10 minutes of real work: write something from a brief with the AI assistant built into the page, then spot the mistakes in another AI draft and answer four quick questions. No time limit, nothing to install and no AI account needed.
How is it marked?
0 to 4 in five areas: asking AI clearly, checking what AI gives you, keeping data safe, knowing when to use AI and when not to, and getting a good result. AI marks how people worked with the assistant, and a mark only counts when their own messages back it up. Plain rules check the facts in their work against the brief, the mistakes they ticked and their answers.
Can I use it to decide who to hire?
Use it as one piece of evidence. Results are a guide, not a qualification, and never a pass or fail. A person must review every result, and it must not be the only basis for a decision. The report gives you questions to ask at interview.
Which roles does it cover?
Eight kinds of role: office and administration, sales and business development, customer service and support, marketing and communications, finance and accounts, operations and logistics, managing people or a team, and general office work.
What does my team see, and what do I see?
Team members see their own work and feedback, and get one short practice exercise a week. You see their scores and the team report, not their work.
How much does it cost?
Teams: £15 a person a month, or £144 a person a year (£12 a month), at least 10 people. Candidates: £25 a check, or 10 for £200, 50 for £750, paid once. Your own first check is free. Prices exclude VAT while we are not VAT registered.
Is there a contract?
No. Team plans can be stopped at any time and run to the end of the period already paid. Candidate checks are paid once, with no subscription.
Is it for individuals?
No. YorDigital Skills is for organisations: you sign up for your organisation, not as a consumer.
Is AI involved, and is our data used to train it?
Yes: an AI assistant from Anthropic runs the check and helps mark it. Answers are never used to train AI.
What data do you keep?
For the people you invite, you are the controller and we are your processor. We keep their email address, answers, conversation with the assistant, timing and report. Candidate details are deleted 180 days after the invitation, or sooner if you delete them, and everything is deleted 90 days after a subscription ends. Full details are in our privacy policy.
